YAYASAN YAKKUM CRAFT
The Organization
Objective
The main objective of YAKKUM Craft is to assist young people with disabilities to work, earn a living and become respected members of their communities. The organisation markets quality handcrafts, made by a growing team of producers, under the Rehab Craft Label.
Established in 1991, YAKKUM Craft is the sister organization of Pusat Rehabilitasi YAKKUM, a rehabilitation centre which gives assistance to disabled children and young adults, particularly those from the poorest and classes society. Potential producers are trained for two to three months by Pusat Rehabilitasi YAKKUM. At the conclusion of the training, those who reach the required standard are asked to become regular producers of YAKKUM Craft.

ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
Staff
15 Staff, 75% of whom are physically disabled
Producers
55 producers, all with physically disabilities. 33 producers work on site and are paid a monthly wage: The others work at home and paid per items made. 56% of producers are men and 44% are women. Special benefits for producers include medical expenses, transportation allowance and accommodation allowance.
